Itinerary
08:30 AM. We will start our tour, the first place to visit will be:
1.- ANDAHUAYLILLAS CHURCH: The temple rests on a solid plinth of limestone blocks taken from the Inca Palace, located once in the same place. Built of adobe, its simple but admirable and proportionate façade, look, through the main square, into the fertile valley of the Vilcanota. Currently known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas”, the church is famous for its wonderful murals and the colonial paintings of Luis de Riaño, Diego Quispe Tito and Tadeo Escalante, as well as other anonymous artists. It is believed that, possibly, there are works by Murillo, the great Spanish painter.
2.- PIKILLACTA: Pikillacta is considered today as one of the best known and best preserved pre-Inca cities that exist in Peru. It is located 30 km southeast of the city of Cusco, about 3350 meters high and covers a territory of approximately 50 Hectares. Pikillacta is a name assigned after the arrival of the Spaniards. The original name is unknown.
3.- TIPÓN: As an emblematic sample of the Inca hydraulic wisdom we highlight Tipón, a town located 23 km from the southwestern part of Cusco at an altitude of 3,560 meters above sea level, located in the district of Oropesa, province of Quispicanchis, it was a major shrine where He worshiped the water with the care and veneration that the Incas treated to this element.
